Program Notes

Two electroacoustic miniatures based on explorations of vocal sounds. “Demo” is based on short excerpts of speech that are analyzed and resynthesized as clouds of sounds, varying the original harmonies and rhythms present in the original. “Palavra Prima” takes a short sample of a song by Chico Buarque and stretches it over one minute, adding different colors to the sonic spaces that are revealed through this process.
