Entrei pelo Canon No. 2 is a piece that explores the physical gestures of the pianist without producing sound. The pianist is called upon to theatrically represent, as music, the physicality of musical performance. The piano is prepared in a way that pressing the keys generates practically no sound. Music, here, is conveyed by the pianist’s body and delivered to the eyes. In spite of the fact that no piano tones are being produced, the pianist should play from beginning to end as if the sounds really existed.
